How You Can Create Success Amid Your Suffering

Finding success amid suffering

Finding success amid suffering

You are going through tough times that are affecting you mentally, emotionally and even physically. And you are thinking, will it ever end?

Well, while some of your sufferings will most likely end, some of it may never do. But whether it does end or not, whether you want to live a mediocre life or a successful life, you will have to make a choice.

Ever heard the expression, if it doesn’t kill you it will make you stronger?

There’s a lot of truth in this statement.

Many spiritual teachers will tell you about their own recipe for happiness. There are so many techniques to find happiness that works great, at least for those who are applying them.

But what about being happy, while you actually have plenty of reasons to be downright depressed?

Is that possible?

And what about finding not only happiness but thriving while you have a thorn in the flesh, so to speak, is that possible?

I’m here to tell you that not only it’s possible, but that’s what is happening to me right now. So, I’m not here to preach some unattainable goals here. I’m here to help you see that you can find true happiness and true success while having to carry on with that pain of yours. That element in your life that’s not going away anytime soon.

You see, your life doesn’t have to BE perfect, in order to MAKE it great.

Why?

Because you are a creator.

Yes, you create your own life.

How you Create your Own Experience

You know how a movie projection works, right?

The film roll is put on a projector, and that projector is casting the images of the film onto a white screen.

So, as a spectator, you have the illusion that what you’re seeing on the screen is the reality of the process, while you’re totally oblivious to what’s going on in the projector back there.

Well, that’s the exact same thing with your life.

The experiences that you are going through, what you see, what your life looks like right now, seems to be the “reality” just like the movie on the screen, while the true source of the matter (your life experience) is happing in your projector (your mind).

Yes, what you are projecting with your mind is obviously reflecting in your life. This process, yet very simple, is what tricks people to think that it’s luck, circumstances, and fate when it truly is a reflection of what they are projecting.

I know what you’re thinking; if this is the way I see it, it’s because it darn looks like it is, isn’t it?

Yes, but this is because the majority of your results come from what’s going on at a subconscious level, and the less you’re aware of your subconscious programming, the more it’s running the show of your life in ways less than desirable.

The best way to get in there is by…

Questioning and Altering your Thoughts

This means that the majority of the seven billion people who are walking around will never, ever try to use that free service that’s available to them 24/7 to help them change their lives for the better – namely, their own thoughts.

In a way, we can say that human beings, in general, are willing slaves of their society and environments, while they don’t have to.

People can take your physical freedom, your family, your job, your house, your pets, etc., but they can’t take your thoughts. As long as no one can take your thoughts, no one can truly do anything to you.

Pause for a moment and think about it!

If you don’t like what you see on the screen of your life, start questioning your thoughts, and start to consciously alter them, by replacing them with better feeling thoughts.

At the end of the day, you have two choices in life…

1) You keep on doing what you’ve been doing and nothing will change.
2) You start altering your results by changing your mindset, and things will start changing for you.

The choice is YOURS to take.

No one can do it for you, because you are the projector of your own life.

Change your Reality

When you learn to control what you are projecting into the universe that you live in, you will see how things start changing around you.

Keep in mind our projector analogy here for a moment, and remember that you are a creator.

If you want to watch a fun movie, but you’ve put a horror movie on that projector of yours, there’s no way you are going to be able to watch that fun movie. Because what you’re able to watch is the projection of what’s in the projector.

If you want your life to be more joyful, more abundant, more successful, you need to remove the negative thoughts that you are projecting.

Your reality can’t be separated from you.

Your reality can’t be separated from your thought pattern.

The reason why there are more people whose life sucks, in one way or another, than those whose life rocks it’s because most people thought pattern sucks.

Very simple.

Start using that free service that’s available to you 24/7, otherwise known as your thoughts, to start changing your reality.

When you start doing this the right way, even though your physical experience will seem to stay the same for a while, the process will be on its way starting NOW. While you can’t see it yet, your life will have already started to change, from the moment you start changing your thought pattern.

The reason I know this so well, it’s not only because I’ve heard it from other dozens and dozens of people who have turned their life around, but because that’s exactly what happened to me.

Reaping Success amid Suffering

Today I’m traveling Europe for the past 10 months. During this short period of time, I’ve been to Ireland, Scotland, the UK, Spain, and France.

Right now I live in a huge estate in southwestern France, with more quiet spots to meditate than any human being really needs. I’m surrounded by nature and animals (two things I absolutely love), and I even have wonderful friends not too far away when I need help, or even if I need human company once in a while.

successful amid suffering

Right now, I’m single by choice, and I so enjoy it! But I could complain about it and be miserable for the same thing just as well, right?

It’s my choice.

Every morning I take two donkeys and a sheep out in one of the nearby fields. As I’m doing this, I have one of the dogs and often 2 or 3 of the cats following me around. As I observe this beautiful picture ever morning for the past 7 months now, I am in total awe, and I can’t help feeling good, and smile to myself.

But that feel-good feeling had been a work in progress well before it came to reality. I had managed to train my thoughts to feel good, well before it was my present reality.

I learned to do it when my life was a pure hell, as a matter of fact.

No doubt that you can create either hell or bliss, no matter where you are. It’s really up to you.

Now, am I able to say this because my life is easy now?

Heck no!

There are still some pain points in my life, attached to my family, in my case. And those may never go away.

But the point I’m making here is that whether or not that thorn in the flesh will go away or not, I can still make my life great.

In my case, I’ve used that otherwise negative family experience to do something that I would have never done before.

Soon, I will make public what I’m doing, but for now, let me just tell you that that personal thorn in the flesh of mine made me do some activism on a new YouTube channel that became successful overnight.

Just a month old and I have over 5,000 views with over 100 subscribers, and zero promotion. Not even using my real name (for now).

In other words, I’m overwhelmed with success while I’m basically trying to hide.

Such success inspired me to write a book, which I already started.

So, my point here is to show you that you can use even your pain points to thriving in one way or another, or you can lie down and cry.

Your choice.

By the way, that successful new YouTube channel inspired me to create a brand new coaching channel that’s coming very soon.  So, stay tuned as I will announce it here on my blog and in my regular channel as well.

As a matter of fact, from then on if you want to learn about success tips,  you’ll need to subscribe to that upcoming new channel.
In the meantime, if you need help to change your thought pattern to turn your life around, you can let me know here.

    1. Hello there,

Thanks for coming, and glad you liked my post. Just a word of caution if you comment on blogs, you may want to use a real name, and not your company name, because such method is kind of frown upon.

      Thanks for coming.

  1. Hi Sylvianne

    Thanks for sharing

Pain can often act as a catalyst for change. The question is: will the change be positive or negative? Some people descend into depression and self-destruction while others rise to the occasion and forge a new uplifting life for themselves. After reading this post, it seems you are definitely in the latter category

Power to you for striking out in a new direction. Even better when it happens in your beloved France.

I did a similar thing after my wife died. I wanted to escape my old life, so that’s exactly what I did. I left Australia and moved to Asia. More than two years later I can confidently say it was a smart decision, and I’m very happy that I challenged my fear of the new, and just did it.

Congratulations on the recent success with your YouTube channel. I can’t wait to hear about your new plans

    Bye for now

    1. Hi Kim,

That’s true. Some people use their pain to improve their lives, and sadly some fall into despair. But that’s one of the reasons I do what I do. I want to help people see that they don’t have to.

Wow, what a moved from Australia to Asia! I know one thing is that people who go above and beyond their fear, tend to reap great results, and it seems to be your case, so thank you for sharing this here.

      Thank you for coming.

  2. Hi Sylviane,

I love this message you’re sharing. I know a few people myself who have chosen to dwell in their pain and never take the initiative to move forward in their lives.

As you know the story after I lost my Dad, I was in a deep depression for two years. I’m a happy person overall though so staying in that state was not an option for me. Knowing he would never want me to be in that dark place encouraged me to seek help. Without it I’m not sure where I would be today but we make our own happiness.

It’s a choice but for a lot of people they need that help. That’s why you do what you do, to help them understand why they hold onto some of the thoughts that they do that prevent them from being in that fabulous place.

I can’t wait to check out your YouTube channel and everything else you’re doing. I’m just SO excited for you Sylviane. I have to tell you, if I was able to stay at a place like you are right now I’m not sure I’d ever want to leave. It looks like pure paradise to me so I know you’re having a wonderful time there.

Good to see you again and thanks for sharing this wonderful topic with us. I’m off to share it as well.

    1. Hi Adrienne,

So nice to see you here, and I am finally going to go back to blog reading in the morning. Been so, so busy lately 🙂

You know the natural state of any human being is happiness, but unfortunately, at times we fall into depression, which is unnatural. I spent years being depressed in the past too.

I know that you’ve suffered a lot due to the circumstances in which your dad died, and I certainly understand that. As I told you recently, my fall wasn’t due to nothing, but to the recent facts in regards to my brother and the fact that I learned that my mom was cremated when I knew she wouldn’t have wanted that.

I was affected for a good couple weeks, and that’s why I started my activism which actually has been very therapeutic for me, while helpful for others.

Since the Huffington Post as accepted my contribution as a writer, I’ve just submitted an article based on such activism to them. Gosh, I hope they’ll publish it.

I really feel that this part of my past had to come out otherwise it was going to affect me within, and I know better than letting that happen to me.

Yes, where I live right now is divine. Gosh I love it so much, I may stay for another round. I haven’t made my decision yet, but I feel really good here. And now spring coming it’s getting more gorgeous.

Thank you so much for coming, as I always appreciate your feedback, Adrienne.

  3. Hi Sylviane,

I love this article you have written because we can take that pain and use it like a knife in our hearts falling into deep depression or worse. OR we can use it positively and make changes in our lives.

Love the analogy you have given here of the projector because it really illustrates how we can make a choice. But…the problem is we don’t always have tools to make that choice for ourselves. That’s where you come in. We do need a person to help us along when turning pain into positive energy. Thank goodness you are here to help others do that.

Now, I’m looking forward to seeing this new Youtube channel of yours. I’m so excited for you. And by the way…those pictures are just beautiful. You are with such beautiful animals in such a peaceful place. It is like you made a change, and everything fell around you.

    Be blessed,

    -Donna

    1. Hi Donna,

So nice to see you. I haven’t been at your blog forever.

Maybe it’s because I am all too well aware of what negative thoughts can do on a person that made be become what I am today. My mother’s life is my own best example of that. But in her case, she didn’t know any better. She had a sucky childhood, and in her younger days, personal development wasn’t that common or even easy to access.

It’s my determination of not having a life that sucks that’s helped me to find the information that I’ve found 10 years ago, and kept trying to improve my life. Right now my life doesn’t suck for sure, except for my situation with my brother, but that was the point of this article. Finding success through pain.

Thank you so much for coming and have a wonderful Easter.

  4. Hi, Sylviane

    Love this inspirational post.

Glad that you remind us – we are born to create our own kingdoms. We don’t like what we have around us; we can make a choice to alter that.

How appropriate you were using movies as an examples. If we didn’t like the horror movie on the screen, we should take down the roll of horror film and change to roll of comedy film.

    Will share!

    1. Hi Stella,

I’m so glad you liked this post.

Yes, I though that the example of the movie we put in our projector was a good illustration to help people visualize what I meant. We know that it’s not always easy, but we need to start projecting good stuff for ourselves if we want to see an improvement in our lives.

Thanks for coming and for your comment.

      ~Sylviane

  5. Hi Sylviane,

Gosh – you and I are like two peas in a pod. At least, that’s how I experience it 🙂

Funny how you used the film projector metaphor to elaborate on a point. I did something similar with a post I wrote this week for another publication.

I know how tough it is to remain positive when you’re down. Faith isn’t easy for most of us to come by because we rely on proof in the outside world to validate reality to us – when the truth is, reality is the last part of the equation. Faith is trusting in what exists beyond our five senses. You have to make awareness a priority in order to gain an understanding of this.

Challenging to do when you don’t know what you don’t know (unconsciously unconscious) – if that makes sense.

You’re right when you say that most people won’t try to alter their thoughts. And when they do, it’s at surface level. What exists underneath shows up as soon as the buttons are pushed and instead of observing this from a place of curiosity and seeking to discover what lives deep within them – controlling their thoughts, beliefs and lives in general, they catapult themselves back into doubt.

I know this because I did it for most of my life. I know how it works.

Regardless of what the news says or even how a large portion of society still do not attempt to look beneath the surface of what plays out in the environment – I see a world filled with individuals who are beginning to want to wake up.

The fact that you, me and others have gained insight into how this works, to me, is uplifting. More people sharing this information is a good thing.

Glad to see your physical reality is catching up to what you’ve spent so many years creating. That, my friend, is the true meaning of FAITH.

    1. Hi Dana,

As always, excellent comment full of wise insights.

I too was stuck into going back to doubts for a very long time myself, but eventually I started to weaken those doubts more and more.

Yes, many people are still unconsciouly unconscious as you’re saying and I know many of such people, but at the same time more and more people are waking up too, as you said, and I too am comforted in the thought that they are more and more people like you and me.

Interesting that you used that same type illustration I used. Kindred spirit 🙂

Thank you so much for your excellent input.

  6. Hey Sylviane,

Where there is living a successful life there’s those pain points within your life. We all have these two thing within our lives, but it’s really up to us to choose what to focus on. I’ve seen how some people react to these two. No matter how successful they are, they tend to find something wrong and vice versa.

You take the bitter with the sweet. But I see the bitter as a way to either learn and even appreciate the sweet even more so than anything. You reach a balance when you have this approach to your life. At least for me it does. It helps to live in the moment so that you keep progressing.

Thanks for sharing Sylviane! Have a great weekend!

  7. I really think about my life. not everyday but often I do the same. Everything that we see around us is the reflection of our thoughts. One problem that we face is the sustainability of those thoughts. We feel enthusiastic towards a particular thing for few moments only and then everything becomes normal. Could you please tell us how could we hold those energising thoughts for a long time?

    Thanks
Nikhil invites you to read..A Specialist Remedy to Hide Backlinks from CompetitorsMy Profile

    1. Hi Nikhil,

So, if I understand you correctly you are asking me how you can hold positive thoughts for a longer time.

Well, the best advice I could give you is to become aware of your feelings, because it’s easy to catch how you feel than what you think. If you don’t feel too happy, and enthusiastic it’s tell-tale sign that your thoughts are not positive. By watching more closely how you feel you’ll be better able to notice your thoughts and change them.

Also remember that when you feel down your vibrations are low as well, and in order to attract what you want you need two main things, positive thinking and high vibrations.

      I hope this helps.

Thank you for coming and for your question.

      ~Sylviane

  8. Well this seems to be appeared quite interesting. The life gives you various challenges at every phase of life.
Thanks for sharing this helpful and effective post.

  9. Hi Sylviane,

I love your traveling/house sitting lifestyle and perspective.

Suffering is optional yet, because we resist and are human and fallible, we suffer from time to time. Goodness knows I have. My turning point is going back to nature, always, to be in the moment.

You’ve some beautiful animals to take care of and these guys teach detachment, joy, and in the moment living. No worries about success or fame or money or relationships; they just are BEING. And the more we be, even as we suffer from time to time, our success meets us.

    Thanks Sylviane 🙂

  11. Hi Sylviane,

This is such a wonderful article! Being around nature and animals, it helps me so much seeing everything more clear. I have to distant from everyone so as to hear my voice clearly. It is pretty much what many monks do. They do take their time away from everyone so as to clear their thoughts and see things from a new perspective.

Thank you for sharing your experience and I am so glad I connected with you. Good luck to your journey!

I particularly loved these thoughts: “our reality can’t be separated from you.” “Your reality can’t be separated from your thought pattern.” “But the point I’m making here is that whether or not that thorn in the flesh will go away or not, I can still make my life great.”

What a couple of years I’ve had. Besides starting my dream business, I’ve taken care of both parents at their end of life journey and passage, taken of teenagers, and not taken care of myself.

Sound familiar? I’m truly the definition of one of the “sandwich generation.” Thanks for the reminder of all the wonderful possibilities.

Even though my challenges have been very different than yours, I only wish I had to take care of my aging parents, but that has never happened for me for 2 very different reasons. One per each parent I mean. However, I can’t still totally relate. I know was you mean about the sandwich generation, having to take care of parents on one hand, and children on the other.

Keep your head up, and congratulations on your dream business. I hope to see you around again soon.

  14. I believe that the result of suffering is relative to the child in question as well as what kind of negative experience they have dealt with. Each human being is unique in their ability to move on from bad things; especially when it comes to using negative experience as inspiration to strive for something larger. Sadly, people can be fragile things; easy to break apart and hard to restore. It is all relative. While I do think suffering has a very large hand when it comes to exactly what kind of people we grow and develop to become, I believe that other factors must be considered as well.

  15. Hi,
and first of all thanks for that creative article . you have mentioned all points of life to live in that world with peace and love. I agree with you that you said about our spiritual teachers and we practice on their techniques but sometimes we fail. Because there are so many changes in our life and have many troubles and thoughts in mind. And we cant believe on anyone due to some unexpected conditions that we cant change the whole life.

  16. Hi Sylviane,

Am impressed with your life style. You’re on my heart .Like you I also love the landscapes of South Africa and want to live life there.

    Thanks for the article.
