How to Influence People With Your Written Words
For some reasons the word “influencing” might sound like a negative word for many people. This is due to the fact that people use this skill for selfish reasons to make people do what they want them to do. However, influencing someone doesn’t have to be a negative thing.
If you are selling anything from a health insurance to ipods you are in the business of influencing people, and if you don’t do it well, it means that your sales are down. So, how to influence people with your writing word is something you definitely need to know if you are marketing your product or service through free articles directories.
Learn how to communicate with your readers through your article
Are you able to communicate with your readers through your articles? Some people write articles as if they were talking to a large crowd or a generic public and therefore lose out on connecting with their readers. Being able to communicate means that when you write, you need to speak to one specific person and speak to him or her one on one. Do not speak in general as if you were addressing a crowd. Some writers actually like to visualize their reader, deciding if they are male or female, young or old, what kind of people they may be, etc…
Of course you are writing your article to be read by as many people as possible, but you want to concentrate in speaking to one person at the time. You want to write for that one reader who is reading your article now. If you follow this rule as you write your article you will sound more personal and have more power to influence your reader to do what you want him or her to do.
How to address your reader
When you are addressing your reader you want to avoid generic terms such as, people, we, they, etc… You want to use the word YOU as much as possible because it is much more powerful.
For example what is more powerful?
1) I know people have been failing many times trying to make money online before. However, there is finally a solution for them.
2) I know you have been failing may times trying to make money online before. However, there is finally a solution for you.
See what I mean?
Understanding your reader
Another important strategy you should use when writing your article is being compassionate, especially if you are selling products meant to fix people’s problems, such as health products, money making products, or any other service meant to help people improve their lives.
Being compassionate means that you should be able to write in such a way that the reader feels that you understand what they are going through and that you are not just some words on a screen. If you are not naturally compassionate, this will most likely come through your article and you need to find a way to find this skill within yourself by reading articles from other writers who have this great ability.
